THE BEGINNING

The initial consultation is an opportunity to discuss the issues that are troubling you, explore whether therapy can help, and see if I might be the right therapist for you.

THERAPY

Following the initial consultation, if you decide you would like further sessions with me, we will discuss your goals together.  We will also review a contract that outlines the boundaries of our work, confidentiality, fees and the cancellation policy.
 
Sessions last 50 minutes and preferably we will meet weekly at the same time to ensure that time is reserved for you.
 
We will regularly review your therapy goals to ensure you are benefitting from our time together.

DURATION OF THERAPY

I offer both open ended and shorter term therapy.
 
I can help you decide the length of therapy that suits your needs. 
 
Short term therapy typically focusses on addressing a specific issue that has arisen, providing a supportive environment to better understand the situation and identify choices and coping strategies.
 
Longer term therapy can also address current issues, but allows for a deeper exploration of underlying relational patterns and the careful processing of trauma.  This approach fosters greater self awareness, acceptance and  opens up opportunities for lasting change.

Starting therapy can mark the beginning of a process that helps you recognise and achieve the changes you have been longing for in your life.  However, I understand that finding the right therapist and booking the initial appointment can feel overwhelming.
